Farmstand Muffins
“When my kids were younger, I made them muffins to bring to school. I’d place two in a bag and freeze them so they had healthy snacks that were easy to toss into their lunch bag. My original recipe called for nuts, but I removed them due to potential food allergies at school. I also experimented with 100% whole wheat flour and found that it works well, because there are so many blended flavors with the five fruits and vegetables. The best part is that my kids (and their friends) have no idea that those delicious muffins are the ultimate healthy snack. Shhhhh….”
“The muffins are nut-free, dairy-free, fat-free, and about 50 calories each.”
Do you make gluten free products?
Thanks for your question. The short answer is that I’m working on it.
Here’s the long answer: my first attempt at gluten-free was, as my kids would say, an (hilarious) epic fail. I took the rolls out of the oven, let them cool a bit and then took a bite — sort of… I laughed out loud and called my mom to tell her I had made hockey pucks!
Seriously, I am experimenting now with rice flour and hope to have a first round of gluten-free challah soon. In fact, I’ll probably have some samples at the July 22 Needham Farmers Market. Let me know if you’re interested in being a taster…
Thanks for asking and stay tuned. I hope to have good news for you shortly!
Hi Susie,
I bought your fabulous muffins yesterday at the Needham farmer’s market. I am on weight watchers and wondered if you had any additional nutritional info on them. Thanks they really are delicious!
Hi Deborah,
I believe the Weight Watchers point count is 1. Here are the numbers you need to calculate. Each muffin has:
Calories: 29.6
Fat: 0.2 g
Carbohydrate: 7.6 g
Fiber: 0.6 g
Protein: 0.7 g
Thanks so much for asking.

Hey…I met you today at Northeastern. I bought the dozen muffins(African American girl)!! Let me just say your muffins are irresistible!!! I love them…I have a question though. How are they fat free if in the above comment you’ve described a muffin containing .7g of fat? Im just very keen on nutrition facts in everything I eat so I apologize if this question is a little off putting. Also, how many grams of sugar are in the mini cupcakes(referring to the mini muffins)?
Otherwise, thank you sooo much for creating such amazing muffins. Gosh I loved them. I can’t wait till next wednesday.
Take care!
I meant .2 g of fat. Sorry about that…
